In the GentleWave Procedure, a sterilized instrument delivers a vortex of procedure fluids through your tooth, cleaning debris from canal walls and thoroughly disinfecting in the places where bacteria live. The GentleWave Procedure replaces the standard instrumentation protocol that we normally follow to clean out all the bacteria from inside the roots. We will still access through the tooth, find each canal, and minimally instrument to gain patency, or in other words, open up each ofthe canals. Once we obtain patency for each canal, we will create a platform to rest the GentleWave single-use instrument on. We then run through the spectrum of sound and fluid dynamics to clean deep inside each canal. Once the GentleWave procedure is complete, we finish the root canal treatment as usual with permanent filling material and a build up to restore functionality. You may still need to return to your general dentist for new restoration as necessary.
